The lessons with a PGA qualified pro take place at the St Andrews Practice Centre, and usually come complete with a video analysis of critical parts of your game, particularly your swing. But be aware that the lessons don’t normally come with access to one of the famous 18 hole courses, though the 9 hole Balgove Course may be included, and the Balgove course is one of the best nine-hole golf courses there is and benefits from stunning views out over St Andrews Bay. And you do get the video analysis to take away with you to study in your own time.
Most people will want to play a round at one of the world-famous St Andrews 18 hole courses, and these are the most popular experiences, giving you the benefit of 18 holes for two people at courses that your dreams are made of such as the Torrance course or Kittocks. Hire of a buggy is normally included, which means that you can savour the stunning Fife scenery and really appreciate your St Andrews round in comfort.
But remember, these are links courses, at the seaside, on the clifftops, which means that the weather, may not be as wonderful or predictable as on some of the UK’s inland courses – and as you’ll know if you’ve watched a St Andrews Open on TV, that means especially the wind!! And isn’t that all just part of the charm of playing at the world Home of Golf?
The best thing, and what we recommend, is taking one of the overnight golf packages and treating yourself to a stay in the luxury Fairmont St Andrews, or the Ardgowan Hotel. After all, this is likely to be a once in a lifetime experience, so why not push the boat out a bit. If you don’t, you can be sure that afterwards, you’ll wish you had.
The Fairmont is a luxury hotel befitting the status of the world’s oldest most historic courses, and will make your experience that much more memorable.

You bet they will, eternally too!!
