Learn how to fly

You want to learn to fly a plane?
But first you want to try it out and see if you like it before you commit yourself to a long course of lessons? And you want any time you do spend in the air to count towards your Private Pilot’s Licence and not be wasted if you do decide you want to go further and qualify to fly a light aircraft?

Well what we’d recommend is an introductory 60 minute flying lesson of one to one tuition with a qualified instructor in the type of light plane you’d be flying.

And here they are all in one place for you, from only the most reputable experience providers who give quality and value for money.
And our real time price checker will keep you up to date with any offers.

Why is this the recommended lesson?

You can get cheaper lessons – usually 20 or 30 minutes, and of course they’re a bit cheaper than these and fine as a taster if that’s all you want.
But we find that if you may be serious about learning and taking lessons properly, then you need the extra tuition and time in the air that this extended lesson gives you. You’ll have more time for proper tuition with a fuller insight into what’s involved in flying an aeroplane for yourself, and will get plenty of stick time where you’re at the controls (under supervision from the instructor next to you, of course)and really get a feel of what it’s like to handle this fabulous machine and decide whether it is for you.

We find that in the shorter sessions, everything is so new and flashes by so quickly you’re without the time to settle in and repeat enough of the craft control and manoeuvring to give you a sense of familiarity.

And on this extended experience your time will count officially towards your PPL should you decide to go ahead, which is always a good thing.

If you find these outside your budget at the moment and want to check out the shorter flying lesson experiences, usually 20 to 30 minutes, then we’ve included some shorter ones here too.

Best gift experience

We also find that a 60 minute lesson makes a brilliant gift experience.
It may not be for granny (but then again it just might??), but for someone who likes to try different things, has a bit of a sense of adventure, this is something they might not think of for themselves but which they would really be thrilled to receive as a special gift idea.
Think about it, and we bet there’s somebody you know who’d just love it.
