What has 87 storeys and Standing 309.7 metres (1,016 ft) high, is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, the tallest building in the European Union, and the fifth-tallest building in Europe?
It’s not quite as tall as the Emley Moor radio tower in Yorkshire, but then that’s not a real building and you can’t take a trip up Emley Moor to get a breathtaking view of the world’s finest capital city (that’s London btw).
And of course you wouldn’t be reading this is you didn’t already know the answer – it’s the legendary Shard, that amazing glass clad pyramid designed by famous Italian architect Renzo Piano (I bet he was named after the famous instrument of the same name, the Renzo!!)
Anyway, for one of the country’s most breathtaking views, the viewing platform near the very top of this wonderful structure simply cannot be beaten.
So what are you waiting for? Get your tickets and get on up there – great for singles, couples and families alike, a trip up the Shard is one to be remembered and is suitable for all ages.
And for a special treat for a birthday, or as a Christmas treat, why not combine a visit to the Shard View with a river cruise on the Thames, or a mouthwatering afternoon tea?
Check out the prices, choose the one you fancy and go right through to buy your tickets online.
Just imagine your mum/gf/bf/oh/cat gasping in wonder and amazement at a view second to none in the whole of the EU!!
ps I just put cat in for effect, cats aren’t really allowed up the Shard, or in the scrumptious afternoon tea either, so make sure your kitty is tucked up fast asleep on the sofa before you leave home!
